Happy Fall, y’all! I love this time of year when the light shifts, the temperature dips, and our thoughts turn to all things cozy! Autumn seems to draw us toward the warmth of home, and I always look forward to that first really crisp day when “fireplace weather” has finally arrived.
A toasty fireplace makes a beautiful focal point for your living space in the Fall! Here are some easy ideas for making it the comfiest spot in the house:
- Bring the outdoors in! Now that the landscape is dressing up in vibrant colors, it’s natural to dress up your home as well — and the mantel is a great place to start. Experiment with a simple arrangement of autumn foliage and pumpkins, or try my favorite Fall mantel decoration – apples! Their rosy reds and rich golden hues make the perfect accent in this season of harvest and health.
- Turn your most comfortable chairs toward the hearth and add a soft pillow or warm afghan in rustic tones. You’ll love curling up there with a hot mug of cider!
- Style your coffee table with some books and a game or two – your family will naturally gather there for “together” time in front of the fire.
If you’re dreaming of a fireplace in your brand-new home, we have so many options to choose from here at Coleman Homes! My favorite is the elegant fireplace in our Welsley model home at Bellano Creek in Meridian. It features the “Bolton” mantel with a Shaker crown and a beautiful tile surround, for a classic look that’s just waiting to welcome your autumn décor!
