Make Some Fun Family Memories at the MK Nature Center!

Springtime weather can be temperamental here in Idaho, but when the sun finally does peak through, it’s the perfect time to explore all the great things that Boise has to offer! One of my family’s favorite springtime spots is the MK Nature Center. Located along the beautiful Boise Greenbelt, this Idaho gem offers nearly five acres of wildlife habitat with meandering trails, and includes fun features like a StreamWalk with underwater viewing windows and a Visitor’s Center with fascinating exhibits.  Bring your camera and a curious eye, because deer, frogs, turtles, rabbits, ducks, geese, beavers, and other wild creatures often make an appearance, and don’t miss out on the butterfly garden, native plant garden, and gorgeous waterfall overlook.

I love it that the Nature Center is situated just minutes away from the bustle of Boise’s Downtown, yet the moment you enter that lush canopy of surrounding trees, you’re absorbed by the peaceful sounds of splashing water and echoing birdsong – it almost feels as if you’ve managed to escape miles away into the country. A trip to the MK Nature Center is a quick and easy way for your family to “get away from it all” for just an afternoon, and it’s a great opportunity to make some fun and lasting memories together. So get out and enjoy some spring sunshine with your family this weekend – you’ll be glad you did!
